A staple on every Italian table, panettone is undoubtedly one of the main symbols of Christmas. Among the endless variations, the pistachio panettone is a must, though navigating the numerous supermarket and artisanal options is never easy.
One noteworthy option is the pistachio panettone produced by "AromaSicilia" in Bronte, which can be purchased either at their shop in Bronte or online via their well-stocked official website.
The packaging is very simple, featuring a classic Christmas gift box. Note that when ordering online, you must check the "gift box" option to receive it this way; otherwise, you will simply receive the panettone in a bag (properly packed, of course).
The dough is incredibly soft and well-leavened, with an excellent and well-defined flavor that never overpowers the pistachio. A particularly interesting feature that sets it apart is the presence of small bits of candied pistachio throughout the dough (highly appreciated even by those who don't like traditional candied fruit).
The pistachio cream filling is well-distributed, but above all, it is very delicious with a great pistachio flavor! It is a cream made with a 40% pistachio content, all of which is strictly Bronte pistachio DOP, using the excellent pistachios grown by the company itself as the raw material.
The coating is simple, dominated by white chocolate, but still very good. The sugar sprinkles add a delightful crunch.
This is a product that, while slightly behind those that come with a separate jar of cream, is absolutely among the best pre-filled options. It earns a rating of 8/10, thanks to its excellent pistachio cream and the addition of candied pistachio, all paired with an excellent, delicate dough.
