I'm a fan of the Algida classics: traditional Magnums, the almond ones, and many other industrial ice cream icons have always had their appeal. It's a pity, then, that in the case of the Magnum Mini pistachio variant, the result doesn't do justice to the star ingredient.
Upon opening, the promise is the usual one: the classic crunchy coating and a creamy heart. But as soon as you take a bite, you realize that there is very little pistachio. The flavor is entirely dominated by the milk chocolate coating — which, it must be said, is delicious and stays true to the brand's unmistakable style — but here it acts as an impenetrable veil, completely masking any green or toasted notes.
The problem isn't the overall quality of the ice cream, which remains pleasant for those who love a classic sweet treat, but the pistachio percentage, which is so low that it's imperceptible. It's a shame, because simply balancing the ingredients differently would add more value to the name written on the box.
Personally, I don't see much point in this offering: I prefer to stick with other products from the iconic brand.
