ChocoFusion is one of the best places in Catania to enjoy sweets, both for the variety and the quality of their creations. We wanted to try their pistachio paste cookies, siblings to the more typical almond paste cookies.
The appearance is lovely, with generously sized cookies and a medium coarse grain on the outside. Upon tasting, the texture is excellent and the sugar is not excessive (though, naturally, this type of product is very sweet by definition).
The pistachio flavor is present and defined, but accompanied by a slight almond aftertaste which, according to Pistacchissimo's standards, ruins the experience a little. It is evident that they use the more "traditional" recipe based on almond paste, reworked into a "pistachio" version. We prefer those made entirely with pistachio.
It is still a good artisanal product, infinitely superior to those you might buy at the supermarket, for example, but in terms of pure pistachio flavor, we have preferred others.
