When will the Sagra di Bronte 2020 be held? What are the dates?
Many of you have been asking me for information about the Sagra di Bronte 2020, whose official name (for a few years now) is actually "EXPO del Pistacchio di Bronte 2020".
Will it happen this year? What days will it be on?
Unfortunately, the answer is simple: IT WILL NOT HAPPEN THIS YEAR
It is usually held on the last weekend of September and the first weekend of October, so the dates would have been as follows:
- September 25, 26, 27
- October 2, 3, 4
Every year, the festival is estimated to attract about 100,000 visitors, significantly crowding the streets of the town, which is obviously quite small. With the COVID-19 emergency, there would have been absolutely no conditions to hold the event safely, whether due to the crowds in the streets or the long queues in front of the most popular stands, as well as inside bars and shops.
I believe the administration's decision NOT to hold the event was very wise, in the hope of a better 2021.
If you want to support the Bronte economy, you can still go there any day of the year and you will find most of the products always available in the various businesses in town.
