2025 RECOMMENDED STOPS

Bar Collina Verde - Desserts, Cappuccino, Vegan and Lactose-Free Arancino...

At the town entrance (coming from Catania), just a few steps from the festival route, there is a truly unmissable bar, "Collina Verde"!

I love having breakfast with a delicious "pistaccino" (pistachio cappuccino, no coffee) and a treat, like a fluffy slice of torta or a mouth-watering tartelletta.

Also worth trying is their pistachio arancino, which is very well made and available in both classic (vegetarian) and vegan/lactose-free versions. Their lactose-free gelato is also interesting.

SOME SUGGESTIONS:
- Torta secca - also vegetarian
- Pistaccino
("cappuccino" without coffee) - also lactose-free or plant-based
- Tartelletta, Pastries, and Croccanti
- Arancino - also vegetarian / vegan / lactose-free

WHERE:
- Bar "Collina Verde" (Viale Catania, 21) - with seating

Caffè Galaxy - Pistachio desserts and many savory options...

Let's start our journey along the main street, beginning at Piazza Piave!

You can enjoy fantastic pistachio desserts at the "Caffè Galaxy" stall, and I especially recommend their torta, with a full-pistachio batter and pistachio cream filling—exceptional! The aragostina, super crunchy, is one of their best-sellers. But they have so many desserts, it's impossible to list them all. This year, a delicious new addition: mini pancakes, with pistachio batter and topped with pistachio cream—unmissable!

For lunch and dinner, you'll also find some savory options, like the parigina, although there is more choice at their bar (for example, Lasagna).

SOME SUGGESTIONS:
- Mini pancakes
- Lasagna
(vegetarian!)
- Street food "cuoppo" with fries and sausage

WHERE:
- "Caffè Galaxy" Stall (Piazza Piave)
- "Caffè Galaxy" Bar (Viale Duca D'Aosta, 28) - with seating

Pastificio il Mattarello - Fresh pistachio pasta and more...

Let's continue on Corso Umberto and stop at the first bend!

If you want to discover a product unique in the world, you must stop by "Pastificio il Mattarello", for both their fresh pasta (highly recommended) and dried pasta (also excellent). The ravioli are particularly good, but there are also non-stuffed shapes (meat-free). Extraordinary quality fresh pasta, made fresh daily, is a true joy for the palate.

It is highly recommended to stock up to take home, but you can also have it cooked on the spot, tossed with their excellent pistachio pesto.

SOME SUGGESTIONS:
- Fresh pasta - also vegetarian
- Dried pasta - also vegan

WHERE:
- "Pastificio Il Mattarello" Stall (Corso Umberto, 38) (on the bend)

Al99 - Crêpes, Pasta, and Gluten-Free...

Along Corso Umberto you will find "Al99", which makes a delicious pistachio crêpe, branded "La Creperia". Fantastic batter, very soft and thin, filled with an excellent cream, among the best in Bronte. Cocoa batter is also available!

At Al99 you will also find some savory options, including gluten-free ones.

SOME SUGGESTIONS:
- Crêpes

- Gluten-Free

WHERE:
- Al99 (Corso Umberto, 116 - next to Piazza E. Cimbali)
- La Creperia (Corso Umberto)

Frastuk - Fried gelato, Crêpes, Pistachio cream...

At the "Frastuk" stall, you will find many high-quality products to take home, such as cream, pesto, croccanti, and whole pistachios, all made with real Bronte pistachio, grown by them.

To eat on-site, I was particularly impressed by the gelato, both in the classic version and the fried version (an exclusive at the festival, from what we've seen). This year I also tried their crêpe, truly excellent thanks to their delicious sweet cream!

SOME TIPS:
- Gelato (fried or classic)
- Crêpes
- Cream, Pesto, Croccanti
- Whole pistachios
(100% Bronte)

WHERE:
- "Frastuk" Stall (about halfway along Corso Umberto)

Novè - Pistachio filletta, Pistachio pesto...

Turning into Via San Pietro, a small alley off Corso Umberto, you can find the "Novè" shop. A place that became very famous in Taormina, not everyone knows they are 100% Brontesi and carry on the tradition of the filletta, a simple and genuine dessert that can be enriched with delicious pistachio cream. Their pistachio pesto is also unmissable: grab a jar!

MY FAVORITES:
- Pistachio filletta
- Pistachio pesto

- "Novè" Shop (Via S. Pietro 37)

U Curtigghiu - Panini and Focacce...

Once you reach Piazza del Rosario (on Corso Umberto), on the opposite side you will see a small staircase going up and you will find Piazza Liuzzo.

The "U Curtigghiu" stall offers many types of very tasty panini and focacce, with fresh, high-quality ingredients, for those who want to vary from the classic "mortadella and pistachio" pairing. From fresh beef carpaccio to freshly sliced porchetta, to pulled pork marinated in pistachio! Both the bread and the focacce are soft and tasty.

MY FAVORITES:
- Focaccia - also vegetarian

WHERE:
- "U Curtigghiu" Stall (Piazza Liuzzo)

Bar Sport - Pistachio arancino, pistachio pastries...

Arriving at Piazza Spedalieri, the main street ends and you meet the last stalls, but above all the historic "Bar Sport di Saitta".

Their pistachio arancino is unmissable; to this day, it is absolutely my favorite because it manages to enhance the sweet and natural taste of the pistachio in an incredible way. Furthermore, it is also VEGETARIAN, so if you are looking for strong meat flavors, it's not for you, but if you want to taste the authentic sweetness of Bronte pistachio, you must try it.

Some of their small desserts, like pistachio pastries, are also very much worth it.
