Fantastic chopped pistachio coating and a soft heart.
Bar Dante, located on the wonderful belvedere of Pizzo Calabro, is one of the classic spots to enjoy the famous Tartufo di Pizzo. Naturally, alongside the classic version, we also tried the Pistachio Tartufo.
It looks very inviting, with a full coating of chopped pistachios. With every bite, this coating provides extraordinary crunch and a fantastic pistachio flavor, which is effectively the highlight of this delicious product.
Inside, we find the pistachio gelato that forms the structure of the tartufo, along with an abundant heart of pistachio cream. The gelato isn't overly intense, but it is definitely good and pleasant, especially as it contrasts with the much stronger pistachio flavor coming from the cream inside and, above all, the generous amount of chopped pistachios on the outside.
Overall, you get freshness and creaminess, alternated with the crunch of the chopped nuts and an excellent pistachio flavor. We really enjoyed it and we recommend you try it if you find yourself in Pizzo Calabro!
