If you are looking for a delightful and refreshing dessert, like an excellent ice cream cake, the one offered by Bar Carciola in Misterbianco is one of the best I have ever tasted, as well as being truly beautiful.
The presentation is meticulous in every detail, as seen in the "log" format I chose for this review, perfectly sliced and beautifully decorated. Upon tasting, you are truly surprised by the quality of the gelato, which is really very good. Often, ice cream cakes are disappointing because the gelato ends up flavorless due to ice crystals, but that is not the case with this dessert, where the gelato is tasty and creamy, without any ice crystals. The sponge cake is also excellent, with no unwanted aftertastes and a great texture.
Focusing on the pistachio gelato, it is truly good, with a spot-on and intense pistachio flavor. It's just a pity that it feels slightly "fatty", perhaps to improve the overall stability of the cake. Regardless, it is one of the best pistachio ice cream cakes I have eaten to date.
The wild strawberry gelato is also excellent, and this is coming from someone who doesn't usually like strawberry gelato because it's almost always made with syrups and artificial flavorings.
In conclusion, compliments to Bar Carciola, which deserves a rating of 4 pistacchi. Highly recommended if you want to surprise your friends with a dessert that is both beautiful and delicious!
