A substantial dough and intense pistachio nutella.

Rating: 9/10
If you're craving a great breakfast to satisfy your pistachio hunger, the pistachio cornetto is undoubtedly one of the most classic choices. After several recommendations, we decided to try the one at Bar Centrale, in the main square of San Giovanni La Punta (Catania).
The exterior is definitely inviting, with a beautiful color and excellent shine. There are no obvious clues that it's a pistachio one.

Once opened, we are met with exactly what we were looking for: an abundant, but never excessive, amount of pistachio nutella. The pistachio flavor comes through clearly, with an intense and high-quality pistachio nutella that pairs perfectly with the excellent cornetto dough.
Looking at the photo, you'll first notice the very "substantial" dough—not the classic flaky pastry—which, however, turns out to be lighter than you might think, resulting in a soft and tasty bite. Another very interesting aspect is the very dark color of the filling, due to the pistachio nutella being baked together with the cornetto (hence the absence of injection holes on the outside), a feature that helps enhance its flavor.
Finally, a detail not to be overlooked: the cornetto is filled right to the tips, but always in a balanced way. It is absolutely not a cloying cornetto (which is common among those filled with pistachio nutella).

Ultimately, an excellent breakfast pastry that deserves to be enjoyed and, above all, deserves our top rating of 9/10.
