I wanted to be bold! Not as bad as expected...

I am always very skeptical of mass-produced pistachio products, but today I felt brave and decided to try the pistachio macaron sold by McDonald's.
The appearance is undoubtedly inviting, as all McDonald's macarons have perfect shapes and vibrant colors, but it's only upon tasting that we can give our verdict. The texture is exactly what you'd expect from a macaron: crunchy on the outside, soft and grainy on the inside. The taste is very sweet. For those who have never tried one, it reminds me of certain traditional Sicilian treats, like almond paste or marzipan.

But the real question you're asking yourselves is: "can you taste the pistachio?". Generally speaking, no!
In reality, if you pay close attention, a vague hint of pistachio emerges on the palate after a few seconds, but it is definitely too faint. The treat is therefore overall good, which is why it earns a rating of 4/10, but it remains an industrial product essentially without any pistachio flavor.
My advice? Spend a few extra cents and go to a good café to buy something with pistachio!
