A sublime taste with a delicate yet pleasant pistachio flavor.
Pasticceria Cappello in Palermo is famous for inventing the iconic Setteveli cake, made of 7 distinct layers of chocolate! I simply had to try their tempting pistachio Setteveli.
I opted for the single-serving portion, which looked beautiful and was crafted with great attention to detail. I chose a poor angle for the photo so the 7 layers aren't clearly visible, but believe me, they were all there!
The overall flavor is truly sublime, and every spoonful is a pure delight, featuring the fantastic interplay of flavors and textures that this cake is known for. The mousse, made to perfection, is the star, but the other layers play an important role as well.
The pistachio flavor isn't extremely strong, but it is present and very pleasant, with no artificial aromas.
I also tried the classic chocolate version, which was excellent, but I preferred the pistachio one. If you aren't necessarily looking for a super-intense pistachio dessert, then this pistachio Setteveli comes highly recommended.
PS: they have more than one location, so you can find the one closest to you.
