Excellent pistachio flavor, simple and natural.

Rating: 8/10
While browsing the books at the Mondadori in Catania, you might stumble upon a small, cozy café called Famì with a catchy name; you decide to stop by, and you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Famì is a small but welcoming, recently opened café that is accessible both from Via San Giuliano and from inside the Mondadori bookstore, offering a nice break between a walk in the city center and browsing the shelves.
They don't have a huge selection of granita flavors, but they have all the essentials, especially the pistachio, which looks interesting right from the start, with a very natural color and plenty of chopped pistachio bits. Tasting it confirms that you are dealing with an excellent granita, perfectly creamy (yet completely dairy-free), with a precise and defined pistachio flavor.
Without a doubt, it is a surprising granita that outshines many of the more famous spots in the historic center, and it absolutely deserves to be tried.
No trace of almond, so no unwanted aftertaste. The other granita flavors are also truly excellent. The brioche has a very good texture, although we were a bit skeptical about the intense orange aroma, which in our opinion impacts the granita experience slightly.

It undoubtedly deserves an excellent rating of 8/10, making it a highly recommended granita for anyone in the center of Catania. It just barely misses the fifth pistachio, partly due to the impact of the brioche (it might be a great idea to enjoy it with warm bread instead!).
