Intense almond flavor. Pistachio only hinted at.

On the historic and central Via Crociferi, in Catania, you'll find a small but welcoming caffetteria with a few outdoor tables where you can enjoy a break: Caffetteria Villaroel.
We tried their pistachio granita, but unfortunately, we were disappointed by the intense almond flavor. The texture is excellent, and the overall taste is enjoyable, but sadly the pistachio flavor is only vaguely present, as it is masked by the almond.
The brioche is good, as are the other granita flavors.
Unfortunately, because the pistachio flavor is so heavily overshadowed, our rating is 4/10.
Taking into account that the pistachio flavor carries a price premium compared to the others, we hope this establishment decides to revise its recipe. We would be happy to return and try it again, especially since we enjoyed the location and the service.
