Creamy and tasty, but the pistachio doesn't fully shine!

A short walk from the Catania seafront lies Gelateria e Caffetteria "Calogero", a small but welcoming spot with outdoor tables where you can enjoy a granita or gelato on a slight promontory overlooking the sea and the cliffs.
We tried their pistachio granita and it is undoubtedly pleasant, even if not particularly exciting. It is certainly much better than many others in the city, but at the same time, it falls short of the best.
The creaminess is excellent, as is the overall flavor, which is well-balanced in terms of sugar. However, the pistachio flavor never manages to stand out, as it is accompanied by an aftertaste that we couldn't quite identify (not the classic almond).
A enjoyable granita, then, but one lacking a distinct identity. The brioche is truly excellent.
The rating, based on the pistachio flavor, is 7/10. Should it improve, we would obviously be more than happy to go back and try it again, especially since the place itself seems to be of high quality.
