Powdery texture and almond flavor.

granita pistacchio judica caltagirone

Rating: 4/10

The Judica & Trieste bar is famous in Caltagirone for its pistachio granita, which is why, while on a day trip, we went to give it a try.

Despite its rather inviting appearance, we were quite disappointed, as the flavor perceived on the palate is essentially that of almond. Considering the texture, which is rather powdery, we had the feeling that the base was made from almond paste.

Visually, you can see the chopped pistachio, but unfortunately, it fails to impart its flavor. The brioche is good, sitting right at the average.

Ultimately, this is a product where, in our opinion, the pistachio flavor fails to shine through, despite the fact that it is chopped inside. As always, we would be happy to try it again if there are any updates.

Rating for pistachio flavor 4/10.
