Believe it or not, many Sicilians love granita so much that they can't give it up even in winter! I have therefore put together a small selection of some of the best pistachio granitas that you can enjoy even in winter in Catania and its province, and even on New Year's Day!
Bar Alecci - Gravina di Catania
Arguably the best in all of Sicily, loved and acclaimed by pistachio enthusiasts, thanks to its truly intense pistachio flavor! It stands out for its creaminess and a slight toasted note. Very well balanced, so it never feels heavy or too sweet. It's almost impossible to find someone who doesn't like it!

Caffè Europa - Catania
At the end of Corso Italia, a few steps from the large Piazza Europa and the seafront, in this elegant bar you can enjoy a truly excellent pistachio granita! The pistachio flavor is intense, with a slight toasted note. Well-balanced, it never feels heavy or too sweet.

Ernesto - Catania
Overlooking the rocky seafront of Catania, Bar Ernesto offers an excellent granita with a very natural and well-defined pistachio flavor, accompanied by a slight "skin" note given by the chopped pistachio. It is arguably the best on the seafront!

Bar Kennedy - Acireale (Catania)
A large and well-stocked bar where you can enjoy one of the best granitas in Acireale! The intense and very natural pistachio flavor reaches its peak when it melts a little. Well-balanced and with an excellent texture, as well as traces of chopped pistachio inside.
