Bar Kennedy, in Acireale, is one of those spots that almost always appears in rankings of the best granitas, so it was high time to find out if it also excels at pistachio granita!
The answer is a resounding yes; you will find yourself in front of one of the best pistachio granitas you could ever taste. Perhaps not the absolute best, but certainly very close to it!
The texture is very creamy and truly pleasant, but what is truly surprising is the intense pistachio flavor, with no interference from unwanted aftertastes. The wonderful thing is that as it starts to melt, the flavor intensifies: when it becomes liquid, it is truly fabulous!
The only downside, if we want to be extremely picky, is that you might notice a slight "graininess" on the palate, but it is absolutely forgivable. The classic brioche col tuppo is also good—nice and big, even if a bit firm.
The price-to-quality ratio is excellent, as the granita and brioche cost only €2.80.
Ultimately, an excellent granita that is an absolute must-try if you are in Acireale or the surrounding area. It earns a rating of 9/10 and climbs onto the podium of the best pistachio granitas.
