A spectacular and incredibly indulgent pistachio dessert!

The "Pistacchio Maniac" cup has a name that says it all and, believe me, it doesn't just meet expectations—it exceeds them! This is a new addition for summer 2017, part of the new sundae cups offered by ChocoFusion in Catania.
It is essentially "loaded gelato"; the base of the cup features pistachio gelato and fiordilatte gelato, topped with plenty of whipped cream, embellished with huge chunks of torta brontese and a generous drizzle of pistachio nutella. To top it all off, a nice sprinkling of chopped pistachios.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that this is probably one of the most indulgent pistachio desserts you will ever taste, capable of sending your pistachio standards through the roof! It deserves a quick breakdown of all its pistachio-filled ingredients:
- Pistachio gelato: ChocoFusion's excellent gelato is a guarantee in itself; you can read the dedicated review here
- Torta brontese: A pure concentrate of pistachio, this is a delicious, dense, and flavorful sponge cake made entirely with pistachios
- Pistachio nutella: The final touch that sends the pistachio flavor into the stratosphere
The exciting thing is that everything is "over the top," so in this wonderful cup of "gelato with a surprise", you will find tons of torta brontese pieces, which provide a fantastic crunchy contrast to the creaminess of the whipped cream and gelato mix. As you can see from the photos, it is all covered in an incredibly generous amount of pistachio nutella, which will even drip down the sides of the glass and pool onto the saucer below, turning it into a very useful reserve of pistachio cream to constantly dip into for every spoonful!
The value for money is excellent because the portion is so generous that it’s perfect for sharing between two people, and the price (7.50 €) is in line with much more basic gelato cups you might find elsewhere.
A truly rare experience that not only deserves to be highly recommended with a full 5 pistachios, but also deserves a hypothetical "indulgence" award. Consider sharing it with someone if you don't want to feel too weighed down.
