The coffee bar Nero Bollente is located in the middle of one of the large food courts at the Porte di Catania shopping mall, ready to feed visitors during their shopping spree. During a day of shopping, I decided to give it a try and ordered a cup of pistachio gelato.
As is becoming increasingly common in many bars, they offer two variants here: pistachio (classic) and "gran pistacchio" (made with white chocolate and pistachio brittle).

The pistachio gelato is quite disappointing; in fact, the pistachio flavor is very faint. The "gran pistacchio" is slightly better, not because the gelato itself is superior, but rather because in some spoonfuls you'll find the brittle, blended with white chocolate and pistachio, which is definitely good, but it can't work miracles to compensate for the mediocre gelato.
All things considered, the rating is 3 pistacchi, as a slight pistachio flavor is certainly present, but it is undoubtedly too delicate compared to Sicilian standards.
