Super soft panettone and excellent pistachio cream!

Panettone Pistacchio Food Maletto Bronte

A staple on Italian tables, panettone is undoubtedly one of the main symbols of Christmas. Among the endless variations, the pistachio panettone is a must, though navigating the numerous supermarket and artisanal options is never easy.

Among the absolute best options is the pistachio panettone from "PistacchioFood," produced in Bronte, even though their headquarters are in Maletto. It can be purchased online via their well-stocked official website.

The packaging is very beautiful in its simplicity, made of corrugated cardboard and available in two colors: plain cardboard (like the one in our photo) or red. Inside the box, we find the plain panettone, without raisins or candied fruit, and a 200-gram jar of "cremella al pistacchio" to spread as you slice it.

Panettone Pistacchio Food Maletto Bronte

This is one of the panettoni we liked most in 2017, thanks to a truly excellent pistachio cream. The cream is made with a 30% pistachio content—not the highest, but very well crafted—with a pleasant roasted aroma and excellent flavor balance (never too sweet or too oily).

The dough is super soft and well-leavened, very much in a brioche style, which pairs perfectly with the cream, creating a flavor balance that doesn't overpower the cream while making even the occasional bites without it enjoyable.

The only weak point of the panettone is the topping, as it consists of a thin layer of white chocolate that doesn't contribute much.
