The "La Romantica" bar overlooks the splendid coastline of Santa Teresa di Riva, with its 2018 and 2019 Blue Flag sea. We tried their pistachio granita.
The first thing that struck us was the incredible pistachio aroma released by this granita, something truly rare!
Upon tasting, the experience is fantastic, due to the fluffy texture, typical of the Messina tradition (with the only drawback being that it melts quickly, but that hardly matters) and above all for the intense and natural pistachio flavor, which is truly excellent. You can clearly see the specks of chopped pistachio throughout, and occasionally, you even find a slightly larger piece, which provides a lovely sensation on the palate.
There are no unwanted aftertastes (no almond or artificial flavorings) and the color is also very convincing.
The sugar is perfectly balanced and the other flavors are also excellent (especially the peach!).
The brioche didn't thrill us, even though it was enjoyable overall, as it was a bit too "soft" (but perhaps it was slightly undercooked, which could be an isolated incident).
If you find yourself in Santa Teresa di Riva, you absolutely must try it!
