A true pistachio granita in the heart of Milan!

Granita Pistacchio Ammu Milano

Rating: 8/10

Is it possible to enjoy a good Sicilian pistachio granita even in the heart of Milan? We went to find out at Ammu Cafè, on Corso Garibaldi.

To our (and your) delight, the answer is yes! In one of the most vibrant streets in Milan's city center, you can enjoy a true pistachio granita, which we really liked and were definitely convinced by.

The appearance is already interesting, with a soft, natural green color, full of bits of chopped pistachio. The texture is definitely good, but it's only upon tasting that we get confirmation that we are dealing with an excellent pistachio granita.

The pistachio used is of excellent quality, providing a good, very natural pistachio taste without any unpleasant artificial aromas. We didn't detect any traces of almond, which deserves a round of applause (too many places give in to the temptation of stretching the pistachio by using almond).

The only negative note, if we want to be picky, is perhaps a pinch too much sugar, but nothing that is actually bothersome. It's not perfect, then, but it is definitely highly recommended.

The price, €3, also seemed more than reasonable considering the strategic location and the quality of the product. We didn't try the brioche col tuppo (note: which are not croissants!), but they looked good.

It fully deserves a rating of 8/10 and, although we don't have many points of comparison in Milan, we can guarantee that with this one you can't go wrong and you are "almost in Sicily".
