Pasticceria Artale, in the heart of Ortigia, is one of the most historic and famous pastry shops in Siracusa. They craft a wide range of quality products, both sweet and savory.
In addition to the classic brioche col tuppo, you can request a version filled with pistachio cream (prepared fresh to order), naturally for an extra charge.
The brioche is excellent: very soft and aromatic. The filling is truly generous and finished with a sprinkle of crushed pistachios.
However, the percentage of pistachio in the cream is not very high, so the white chocolate and vanilla base comes through quite strongly.
Overall, it is a tasty treat, but the pistachio flavor is not very bold, given the type of cream used.
