Very creamy and with a great pistachio flavor.

In the heart of Acireale, among the historic streets of the city, stands the bar Gran Caffè Eldorado, just a few steps from the grand Piazza Duomo. Naturally, we had to try their pistachio granita.
The bar offers both an indoor seating area and comfortable outdoor tables, where we decided to enjoy our granita while taking advantage of a beautiful summer morning.
The granita immediately presents with the right color—green, but not overly so—and the first taste confirms that this is an excellent pistachio granita. The flavor and creaminess leave no doubt that it is made with pure pistachio paste, resulting in a good, well-defined pistachio taste.
Those who prefer more watery granitas might, as always, take issue with the very creamy consistency of this one, but it is an almost necessary compromise for most pistachio granitas. No unwanted aftertaste (typically almond).
It undoubtedly deserves a rating of 8/10, so if you find yourself near Piazza Duomo, it is certainly a very valid option for enjoying a good pistachio granita in the heart of Acireale.
