Bar Ernesto, located on the seafront in Catania, is definitely famous for its gelato, but we didn't overlook their pistachio granita, so we went ahead and tried it for you.

It looks great, with a natural color and some excellent pistachios on top, but it's the taste that confirms you've made an excellent choice for your stroll along the seafront.

We were pleasantly impressed by the very natural and well-defined pistachio flavor, accompanied by a slight "skin" note provided by the chopped pistachios. This is an interesting characteristic found in only a few of the granite we have reviewed and will certainly be loved by those who appreciate this particularity.

The texture is fairly creamy, but not too much so, remaining quite distinct from gelato (also because it contains no milk).

A particularly positive aspect to keep in mind is that the pistachio flavor costs the same as the others (no surcharge), which makes for an excellent price-to-quality ratio.

Ultimately, it undoubtedly deserves a score of 8/10, proving to be an excellent pistachio granita with its natural and defined taste, even if it doesn't reach the absolute heights of intensity.
