Very sweet flavor, which masks the pistachio taste.

Gelateria Iceberg, in Catania, is famous for its gelato, but it also makes various flavors of granita. We went to try their pistachio granita.
The granita is very creamy, with that typical Catania texture that leans a bit towards gelato. The color is a bold green, but not too bright, so it looks quite convincing.
Upon tasting, unfortunately, we found that sugar dominates the overall flavor, resulting in a granita that is, in our opinion, far too sweet. The pistachio flavor is not very intense, and the sugar contributes to muting it further.
The brioche didn't fully convince us either.
It was a different story for the hazelnut granita we paired it with, which was definitely very good and well-balanced.
We will definitely return to try their gelato, which looks very interesting.
