granita pistacchio pasticceria russo santa venerina

Rating: 2/10

Pasticceria Russo, in Santa Venerina, is certainly famous for its wonderful honey cornetti, as well as a wide selection of Sicilian specialties. We tried their pistachio granita.

The granita has a semi-liquid, Messina-style texture, pleasant on the spoon and on the palate. The sugar is well-balanced and it pairs perfectly with the cornetto.

However, regarding the pistachio, we were very disappointed, with a very strange flavor that is overly reminiscent of the "skin". It is not easy to explain the perception we had, but the final result did not thrill us at all.
