A good, average pistachio granita.
Rating: 7/10
We're back at the legendary Chiosco Sciacca in Valverde (all reviews here) and this time we tried their pistachio granita.
The color is very nice, and upon tasting, the pistachio flavor is present and well-defined, with a distinct toasted note. The texture is also good—creamy, but not overly so.
The rating for the pistachio flavor would almost be a 4 out of 5, but I found it very sweet, which slightly penalizes the overall perception of the pistachio, hence the final score. In my opinion, some refinements in the preparation are needed, as the pistachio used is good and abundant, but it doesn't shine as much in the granita as it does in their excellent gelato.
The brioche is very soft, but it didn't fully convince me in terms of flavor.
