A strong base flavor that ends up masking the pistachio taste.

Pasticceria dei Fratelli Aiello, in S. Agata li Battiati (Catania), is undoubtedly an institution, thanks to the quality of their sweets. After trying their excellent pistachio granita, we wanted to put their pistachio gelato to the test as well.
Unfortunately, the gelato did not convince us as much as the granita, due to a strong base flavor that masked the pistachio taste almost entirely. The creaminess, however, was excellent.
We are sure that with a few adjustments, they could achieve a much more intense pistachio flavor, given that their granita highlights the use of high-quality raw materials.
As it stands, our rating is, unfortunately, only 4/10.
