Excellent pistachio-flavored filling!

After talking about their excellent pistachio arancino, we return to Savia in Catania to sample some of their pastries. In the rich display case, the pistachio tartufi, available in both mignon and large versions, certainly don't go unnoticed!
NOTE: for those who read our previous review, be aware that Savia has modified and therefore improved the filling of their tartufi, making them much nuttier!
The generous chopped pistachios on the outside add a nice touch of flavor and a pleasant mouthfeel, but the filling is the real star when it comes to pistachio taste. It is evident, within the inner mousse, that pure pistachio paste is used, which provides an excellent, well-defined pistachio flavor.
Thanks to its excellent pistachio flavor, it fully deserves a rating of 8/10 and is definitely one of the pastries we recommend you try if you are in Catania.
