A delicious pistachio and parmesan cream.

Rating: 7/10
Located in the heart of Catania, just a few steps from Piazza Stesicoro, you can find Sleto, a small but cozy spot with both indoor seating and outdoor tables. The menu has something for everyone: appetizers, pizzas, sandwiches (in their special pizzoburger style), pasta, and main courses. Among the pizzas, there are two pizzas with pistachio cream, so we couldn't miss the chance to go and test them!
We tried both the "Mortadella & Pistacchio" and the "Speck & Pistacchio" versions. Both feature Ragusan mozzarella, Pistachio Cream, Chopped Pistachios, and parmesan shavings. They differ by the addition of mortadella in one, and speck and cherry tomatoes in the other.
The pistachio cream is made with a blend of pistachios and parmesan and is truly exquisite. The pistachio flavor remains very natural since it is made from fresh pistachios (and not pistachio pesto). On top of the pizza, we also find an abundant sprinkling of chopped pistachios, which are of quite good quality. The overall pistachio flavor is not very strong, but it is still pleasant.
The pizza dough is really very good, soft and tasty, just like the other high-quality ingredients. Unfortunately, as often happens with pizzas, the various flavors slightly mask the delicate taste of the pistachio.
This pizza is recommended for those who love parmesan (since the cream is made starting from these ingredients). I, who appreciate it, found it truly exquisite, even if it isn't super "pistachio-forward."
Ultimately, given the excellent cream, which manages to provide a delicate pistachio flavor, the rating is 7/10.
