Incredible pistachio flavor in a top-quality scacciata!

Panificio La Farina Antony, in Catania, stands out for its skillful use of pistachios in many of its products. At Christmas 2018, they debuted their pistachio scacciata, an exclusive in the Catania area, which achieved huge success and inspired many other local shops to create their own versions.
We had the pleasure of being among the first to taste it (you can find the video at the end of the article), and while it is now very famous, we still wanted to dedicate a few lines to describe it.
The dough is the typical Catanese scacciata style, with its unique texture: soft yet sturdy, with a slightly crispy surface.
Inside, you'll find: tuma cheese, pistachio pesto, sausage, and spring onions. On the outside, a generous coating of pistachio flour.
The tuma, a cheese typical of this dish, is of the highest quality and is not overpowering; instead, it pairs perfectly with the excellent pistachio pesto used, which has a truly intense pistachio flavor. Even the spring onion is well-balanced, adding a pleasant touch of flavor without masking the pistachio. For those who really can't stand it, you can still order a scacciata without onions.
Every bite is an explosion of flavors, thanks in part to the interplay with the sausage. Vegetarians can also request it without meat (by order). The value for money, considering the generous amount of pistachio, is also fantastic.
It undoubtedly deserves a rating of 9/10 and is among the most highly recommended products on our blog, beloved by everyone who has tried it to date.
