Excellent pistachio pizza a taglio!
Rating: 8/10
Panificio La Farina Antony, in Catania, stands out from most bakeries thanks to their sweet and savory baked goods, crafted with great attention to detail and often with a nod to pistachio! We tried a slice of their pistachio pizza a taglio.
The pizza is topped with: pistachio cream, ham, mozzarella, and chopped pistachios.
The slices are very generous in size and look truly inviting, thanks to the dominant green color from both the cream and the dusting of chopped and ground pistachios.
The dough is excellent, definitely superior to most bakery-style sheet pizzas, which usually have thick, unrefined crusts. In this case, the dough is just the right thickness and, above all, has an excellent balance of crunch and softness, highlighting the great care put into the base.
The pistachio cream is delicious, though not extremely intense, and harmonizes well with the other ingredients, which are always present but never overpowering. The high-quality chopped pistachios are a fundamental touch that ensures a more prominent pistachio flavor.
Without a doubt, one of the best bakery-style pistachio pizzas we've tried, and clearly superior to many well-known traditional pizzerias. Highly recommended for a quick lunch break or a nice dinner with friends (you can also order it to go).
