A mix of Mount Etna flavors where pistachio isn't the star of the show.

Rating: 7/10
If you have even a passing interest in the topic of "pistachio pizza", you have surely heard of the famous 7+ restaurant-pizzeria in Nicolosi, which has recently opened a location in Catania as well, and in particular their celebrated "Oro dell'Etna" pizza, a world champion back in 2009! But it's worth knowing that it's not their best pizza if you are looking for a true pistachio taste.
The necessary disclaimer is that it is an excellent pizza, which brings together a mix of the best flavors of Mount Etna: porcini mushrooms, black pig speck, and pistachio.
However, if you are looking for an intense and well-defined pistachio flavor, then this isn't the pizza for you, as the wonderful, yet intense, flavors of the mushrooms and the speck permeate the cream during the baking process, ending up almost completely masking the taste of the pistachio. This factor is exacerbated by the choice to bake the speck (which is very aromatic) rather than adding it raw or at the end of the cooking process.
Although it is dusted with generous amounts of pistachio flour, it fails to dominate, hence the final rating of 7/10.
