Let's be clear from the start: don't just focus on the rating, but read the review, because this is an extraordinary product! In our 2018 panettone ranking, it won the "best dough" award (along with 3 others) and "revelation of the year" for its innovative flavor.
The panettone features a pistachio glaze with an intense aroma and color, and a dough enriched with semi-candied amarena cherries in Marsala. There is no pistachio cream.
Every bite delivers an explosion of flavor and softness, with top-quality dough, among the best we've ever tasted. Incredibly fluffy and tasty, with no unpleasant artificial aromas, the real revelation is the amarena cherries in Marsala, which are so good and natural that they are fantastic even for someone like me who doesn't really appreciate candied fruit (or even amarena cherries!).
The pistachio flavor in the coating is quite intense, providing a pleasant contrast with the flavors of the panettone, but obviously, on the Pistacchissimo rating scale, it cannot override the overall pistachio flavor.
The final rating is therefore 4/10, but we want to reiterate how this is a "limitation" in the Pistacchissimo evaluation, which is based exclusively on the pistachio taste. The panettone is extraordinary!
