A good Messina-style granita in Palermo.
The Yoghi gelateria in Palermo offers many flavors of Messina-style granita, and pistachio is certainly on the menu.
The texture is quite close to what you can actually find in Messina, making it an excellent compromise if you are in Palermo, especially for the fruit flavors. The pistachio granita is a bit "chunky," but still quite similar to a true Messina-style granita (by Palermo standards).
The pistachio flavor is well-defined and the granita is very pleasant, with no almond aftertaste or artificial aromas. There are also some bits of chopped nuts, which are quite delightful (even if not particularly flavorful).
The quality of the pistachio didn't seem top-tier to me (so not very flavorful), but the percentage is quite high, so the final result is convincing nonetheless.
If you find yourself in Palermo, this is a good option to enjoy a refreshing, high-quality pistachio granita.
