A good gelato, but with a subtle pistachio flavor.
The gelateria Il Signor di Carbognano is among the most famous and award-winning in Palermo, so I went to try their pistachio gelato.
The quality of the raw ingredients is definitely high, and you get the feeling of eating a well-made gelato.
However, the pistachio intensity is average, as the milky taste of the base is quite prominent. Furthermore, in my opinion, the percentage of pistachio is not very high, which is a shame because you can tell the pistachio used is of high quality.
In the photo, you can see it paired with the Modica chocolate with chili pepper flavor, which I liked a lot, although after a while the strong spiciness can become a bit monotonous and annoying.
Certainly a good gelato, but one that in my opinion does not stand out for its pistachio intensity.
PS: they have more than one location, so you can choose the one closest to you
