Finally a yogurt that tastes like pistachio!
The pistachio yogurt from Caseificio Val D'Aveto became particularly famous thanks to a video by Camihawke, so I wanted to try it to give my Pistacchissimo verdict!
Inside the pot, we find white yogurt topped with a thin layer of a sort of pistachio topping, which contains 13% pistachio. It's not a very high percentage, but it is undoubtedly much more interesting than those seen in other pistachio yogurts!
Just mix it all together to "create" the pistachio yogurt. The color is convincing, the pistachio aroma is there, but above all, the flavor is there too!
Clearly, this is not a particularly intense pistachio flavor, partly because the typical tangy note of yogurt is hard to mask (and otherwise it wouldn't be a yogurt anymore!). Nevertheless, the pistachio taste is present and very pleasant, far above any other pistachio yogurt I have tried in supermarkets. Generally, the others I've tried have almond aftertastes or, even worse, artificial flavorings.
Unfortunately, it is not available throughout Italy, but I hope the company can expand its distribution over time, because it is truly an excellent product!
