Pasticceria Artale, located in the heart of Ortigia, is one of the most historic and famous pastry shops in Siracusa. They craft a wide range of quality products, both sweet and savory.
We tried their pistachio granita and, although it isn't particularly intense, it is still an interesting option in the Siracusa granita scene (a city not traditionally specialized in this specific flavor).
The pistachio flavor is quite delicate, yet present and, above all, free from any unwanted aftertastes of almond or other flavorings.
During our tasting, the granita felt a little too "icy," but this was likely because we were served from the end of the batch.
The ricotta granita with chocolate chips is excellent. The brioche is good, soft, and aromatic.
