A Caccia di Pistacchio - in search of the best Pistachio Arancino in Catania - is an initiative by Pistacchissimo®, inspired by the "Battaglia degli Arancini" (Arancini Battle) launched in 2023 by @cataniadamangiare.

In the original "battle," the stars were the classic ragù arancini, crowning the best ragù arancino in Catania after 3 months of tastings by popular juries.
In this "PISTACHIO HUNT" as well, votes will be cast by popular juries (alongside Pistacchissimo), but this time the stars will be pistachio arancini, now a new must-have of the Catanese food scene!
RULES FOR THE JURY
To sign up as a judge, simply contact @pistacchissimo via message.
There will be several sessions, and Pistacchissimo will announce the next date each week.
Judges can confirm their attendance for a specific date on a case-by-case basis, up to a maximum of about 10 participants.
The location of the challenges will also be announced each time.
Participants will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Priority given to the order of requests;
- Turnover will also be encouraged;
- Anyone displaying any form of unpleasant behavior not in line with the cheerful and genuine spirit of the initiative will be excluded.
The popular juries will be involved in 3 phases:
- Selections | May-June | ✅ COMPLETED
The 20 selected * arancini will be tasted in various sessions, with numerical scores (from 1 to 10) given each time for pistachio intensity and other parameters.
The 6 arancini with the highest scores will move on to the next phase. - Semifinals | June-July | ✅ COMPLETED
The 6 arancini with the highest scores will face off in a knockout tournament, also consisting of several sessions. - Final | July | ✅ JULY 11
The 2 arancini that emerged victorious from the eliminations will compete in a grand final, with a large popular jury that will vote for their favorite!

RULES FOR ESTABLISHMENTS
Establishments are not actively involved in this "arancini competition" and are therefore not subject to any form of regulation.
The arancini will be regularly purchased without prior notice to the establishments, in order to ensure the impartiality of the challenge.
Only for the final will an active collaboration with the finalist establishments be proposed.
