The best dough in town and so much quality!
The pizzeria Sazi e Sani is widely considered one of the best in Catania, if not the absolute best, thanks to its superb dough, famous as much for its flavor as for its lightness.
It's hard to find anyone in Catania who doesn't know this place, and rightly so, as they make extraordinary pizzas with some of the best dough around! The dough is soft and incredibly light, with amazing digestibility! I'm not exaggerating when I say you could even devour two pizzas without much trouble!
UPDATE
I have tried their pistachio pizza several times and was very happy to note that, starting in 2019, they have significantly increased the amount of pistachio on their pizza, effectively following the advice I gave in my 2018 review.
They change their menu often. At the time of writing (summer 2021), there are two pistachio pizzas:
- Pistacchio e Burrata: mozzarella, pistachio pesto, pancetta, confit cherry tomatoes, pistachio flour, burrata
- Mortadella: mozzarella, pistachio pesto, mortadella, pistachio flour, burrata
A fabulous mix of flavors and high-quality ingredients, combined with the best dough in town (in my opinion), is undoubtedly a winning formula. The pistachio is also delicious, very present and well-balanced.
I also highly recommend their other pizzas, each one better than the last, particularly the red ones, where they are true masters thanks to the use of top-quality tomatoes. The ancient grains dough is also highly recommended.
At the end of your meal, you can finish with some delicious desserts. The staff is very professional and the service is extraordinarily fast, even during peak hours.
