A fresh and tasty pizza, though the pistachio pesto is a letdown.

Basilicò Pizza & Brace is located in Cinisi, in the province of Palermo. It is a truly beautiful venue, with great attention to detail and spacious indoor and outdoor areas.

The pizza dough is excellent: semi-soft with a slightly rustic texture, and definitely very light and easy to digest. The ingredients are all carefully selected and of high quality.

The pistachio pizza is topped with: mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio pesto, and chopped pistachios.

The mortadella and stracciatella are fabulous, creating a savory yet fresh flavor that pairs perfectly with the dough, making for a truly great experience!

The pistachio pesto, however, is a bit disappointing, as I couldn't really taste the pistachio and even detected an aftertaste that I believe was basil (which shouldn't be in a pistachio pesto). It's a pleasant, light pesto that works well on the pizza, but it fails to deliver the pistachio punch one would expect. The quality of the chopped pistachios is quite good, but not enough to balance out the strong flavors of the mortadella and stracciatella.

Ultimately, this is a pizzeria highly recommended for its overall quality, but not the right choice if you are looking for a serious pistachio fix.

PS: They also have a delivery-only location closer to the town center, where the pizzas are cheaper and less gourmet, so don't get them mixed up.
